From Farmers market to Dog market? As if we did not LOVE the gold coast enough, we can now thank this beautiful stretch of Australian coastline for embracing and hosting the first artisan market specifically for dogs and their pet loving owners.
Who knew your Saturday morning visit to the local farmers markets would now include a tug on the lead from your dog to go and shop; it is now your turn to walk around numerous foodie and gift inspired stalls but this time your dog will be doing the shopping.August greeted the arrival of Paws at the Park. The grand idea was the brain child of two local dog loving business owners, Jenna & Lia. They launched their first doggy inspired market at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds on Saturday 5th August. A market dedicated to dogs and their owners!
We could not resist taking our beloved pets to explore this new and exciting dog trend, so we got our shopping bags ready and dressed in their finest matching outfits, we took Luna and Cloudy to the first ever artisan market for dogs!Eat, Drink and be Merry
Dogs love treats and they will be spoiled for choice at a market where anything and everything goes. Over 20 stalls waiting for them to explore treats and crafts and we were treated to coffee and pancakes too. From delicious, lovingly locally made ice cream for dogs, to doggy beer (yes, really) we were overwhelmed with the amount of artisan dog treats on offer.Doggy beer has seen a huge growth in sales over the last year and is now lovingly consumed by our furry friends all across the globe; from Singapore to London dogs are lapping up a tipple or two.Non alcoholic ‘Paw Blonde’ beer is sold in powdered form, simply add water and you have a similar looking thirst quenching beer drink for your thirsty friend. When it comes to ice-cream we could not resist seeing if our pooches would like to indulge in a coconut, peanut butter and bacon ice cold treat; unfortunately it was not flavour of the day for Luna or Cloudy. We just need to find the right flavour combo for our fussy friends.Competitive Side?If you have a competitive side you can enter your four legged pooch into one of the many competitions the markets will be hosting?Dress up your pet in the latest trends or get ready to show off with your favourite trick and you could be in with the chance of winning some amazingly fabulous dog inspired prizes.Growth and prosperWe just know the dog markets are going to get bigger and better and Paws at the Park have received some impressively positive feedback from stall holders and customers who went to the first dog market of its kind.On a Saturday morning as much as we look forward to heading off for our organic produce at the local farmers market; we know Luna & Cloudy will be looking forward to seeing what ice-cream or dog beer they get to sample.Watch this space for dates for the next artisan dog market - Paws at the Park.SaveSaveSaveSave
